Harper House and Carter BloodCare together raised 30 units of
blood Thursday, October 23 in a very successful blood drive held at the
Harper House headquarters in Las Colinas. Carter BloodCare arrived at
Harper House shortly after 9am, and by 11 were fully engaged in
collecting blood from Harper House staff. Participation was quite robust
as donors streamed into the collection center, set up in one of the
Irving company’s conference rooms. In all, over half the company took
part in the drive. According to one Carter BloodCare official, “Harper
House was one of the most fun groups we’ve worked with.”
Every day, close to 800 patients in North Central and East Texas need
timely blood transfusions to survive. The majority of this blood comes
from blood drives organized by groups like Harper House. Harper House is
no stranger to answering the call for help. The company regularly
contributes to several charitable organizations, including The Red
Cross, Operation Kindness, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the
American Cancer Society. Thursday’s blood drive was so successful, plans
are in the works to make giving blood to Carter BloodCare a semiannual
event. If you’d like to learn more about how you can help, contact
