At Harper
House, we’re big believers in continuing education. Today,
we’ve added a second dedicated training room - complete with
a new 42” flat screen monitor – that’s now the
hub for web-based training known as Webinars.
Webinars have become one of the most effective and convenient
training tools on the market today. Not only can you take advantage
of premier subject matter experts from around the country, but
you can do so without traveling offsite or leaving a department
short-handed. Staff members simply take an hour to 90 minutes,
walk down the hall and leave with pertinent, timely information
they can apply to their job.
Although Webinars take advantage of technological efficiencies,
they still provide interaction. Each of our live Webinars has an
segment where participants can ask questions, get a response from
the presenter and benefit from other participants’ questions,
just as they can in traditional classroom learning.
The majority of Harper House’s Webinars are purchased from
the International Prepress Association (IPA) and include subjects
ranging from Adobe Creative Suite to Color Management. To ensure
as many people as possible benefit from the presentation, we make
Webinar content available through streaming video, so those who
couldn’t attend can view the event at their convenience.
This program has been so successful with the Harper House staff
that we have extended this program to our customers. If we find
topics that are of particular interest to our customers, we purchase
the program on their behalf for a private viewing. To date, the
response has been overwhelming. Customers have commented on the
timeliness of the subject matter, the professionalism of the presenters
and the efficiency of this Web-based form of learning.
